Started in the long-term care and retirement industry Ontario in 1990. His experience centered on the development, operation and redevelopment of long-term care facilities and adult based residential communities. In the 1990’s Michael led the Management Services Division at Versa-Care Ltd that focused on providing management services to various profit and not for profit long term care facilities. In 1998 Michael became President of Leacock Point Development Corporation, a development company building independent senior living condominiums. In 2011, as President of Southbridge Capital Inc., he and the Southbridge team created and launched Southbridge Health Care LP, a limited partnership that acquires and operates seniors living residences, including long term care, assisted and independent living facilities. In 3 years, Southbridge Health Care LP raised $50 MM in equity and accumulate over of $135 MM in assets, a portfolio that included 19 long term care homes, 4 assisted and independent living facilities, 2,235 beds and over 2,300 employees.
